Associate Professor of Turfgrass Pathology

Functional turfgrass areas are an important feature of our landscape. Diseases affecting these areas can reduce turf cover limiting the ability of these surfaces to provide recreational, esthetic, and environmental functions. To address these concerns my program provides two primary outreach activities:

Turfgrass Disease Diagnostic Center. Professional turfgrass managers may submit samples for diagnosis and recommendations.

Work with the professional green industry to identify issues related to existing and emerging turfgrass diseases and disease management in Connecticut and throughout New England. Conduct research to develop sustainable approaches to effective disease control based on integrated pest management concepts.
